New Swindon Half Marathon Sports Massage Team

Please meet your Sports Massage Team for this years Nationwide Building Society New Swindon Half Marathon. Post-event Sports Massage will be FREE at this years event (located at the Finish Line) so please do take up the opportunity to aid your recovery, pick up a jelly baby, share your story, and dish out sweaty hugs to the team;

Danny Clayton Owner of DC Injury Clinic, Advanced Sports Therapist, Level 5 Sports Massage Therapist and keen (but very average) runner. I have taken part in the old Swindon Half 3 times, volunteered twice, and this is my second year running the Sports Massage Tent. My advice to runners of half marathons is always the same; look out for those tricky middle 11 miles…

Lisa Wright Lisa will be back as the organising brain behind the operation on the front desk, taking charge of the booking-in system and guarding the jelly babies (alongside youngest member of the team, 5 month old mini-Lisa!), so treat her well! She is also one of the gutsiest runners I know and will be on hand for huge levels of empathy!

Charlotte Wilkins Charlotte has a BSc Honours in Sports Therapy from the University of Gloucestershire, and has great event experience having been an integral part of the sports massage team at the last Swindon Half Marathon. More information can be found at www.Stepup2fitness.strikingly.com

N.B. There are no ‘one size fits all’ style quick fixes in most injury scenarios, so these article shouldn’t be seen as such. They are merely guides to a better understanding of how our bodies work.
