Shockwave Therapy

WHAT IS IT?

Shockwave therapy (sometimes referred to as extracorporeal shockwave therapy, or ESWT) is a new, safe*, effective and non-invasive solution for chronic musculoskeletal pain where other treatments have not achieved a resolution. It can be used as a standalone treatment, or alongside other treatment plans

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots. The energy promotes regenerating and reparative processes of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues – in short, pain relief and acceleration of healing. The recommended dosage is 3-5 sessions, which are paced 5-10 days apart.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Shockwave therapy is a consideration for a wide range of conditions, including (but not exclusive to) plantar fasciitis, knee pain, shoulder pain, tennis/golfers elbow, achilles tendon pain, and some hip pathologies.
